Very Nice— I’m looking forward to seeing it done. The Wild Thing’s gun Box was extended forward in about Feb. 1971. Right before we extended it, we mounted the mini gun on the back and twin m-60′s on the front. Web
Thanks for your comments. I have planned to put 1 M60 on the right, one .50 on the left side and a minigun in the rear place, as one pic I have.
pascalbausset— I’m guessing that is a very early photo of the Wild Thing. Late 1969 or early 70 . Sometime I’m guessing in 1970 the gunbox was taken off the 2 1/2 T and put on a 5 ton. Web
I saw the photo you are talking about on the modeling site—- Note: The ” Wild Thing ” D.co 815th Engineers of which your model is of ,was not the same Guntruck “Wild Thing” (Malfunction) ( Daughter of Darkness) Of the 523rd Trans. — Shared the same name but completely two different Guntrucks— Larry ( Driver) member of this site drove the 523rd Wild Thing. Web
Thanks, I know this; The 523rd Trans Wild Thing was a M37.
Nice models. Thanks for taking the time to do them.
Pascal,
Very nice work,
Merci,
Dan
What unit was your Puff with?
There was 2 trucks name Puff The Tragic Wagon.
-first truck from 102nd Eng Det, 815th Eng
-second truck from 8GP,54 Bn, 88TC,3
The Wolfpack decal sheet that I use give the boxart design with the 815 Eng bumper code
My reference picsgive this box art design with the 8th GP bumper code.
But I don’t have any pics from the 815th Eng Puff the Tragic Wagon truck.
Have some one some informations TIA
The Puff that is pictured is a model of the 8GP, 27Bn,88 Transportation Co. 2nd Plt. guntruck. The reference picture is from about mid Dec. 1968 taken the first week that I had started as NCOIC. I stayed as NCOIC until DEROS in Aug69.
The front armour was cut down, and a 50cal. added the first week of Jan69. If you need additionan info, just let me know.

Puff from the 815th Engr was in A Co. and had two different bumper numbers. The first was A22, this truck was originally Hot Buttered Soul, but never had the name painted on. This truck was renamed Puff the Tragic Wagon. When it’s frame cracked the bed was transferred to A109. This truck was a deuce and a half with a turbo charger. Out driver, Carl Hadlock was assigned from the 102nd. The old site had pictures. If I can ever get used to this new site I will repost them.
